As a board-certified holistic health and nutrition professional and certified personal trainer my journey into this field is both deeply personal and professionally driven.
Early in my career, I led a successful consulting business, helping food companies stay competitive through strategic change. I was doing work I loved—applying my education, experience, and energy to help others thrive. But while I was focused on the success of others, I was neglecting my health. The long hours, constant travel, high stress, and inconsistent eating habits slowly began to take a toll.
By the time I turned 40, I was diagnosed with several chronic health conditions: prediabetes, high blood pressure, kidney disease, chronic back and joint pain, and gut dysfunction. It was overwhelming and frightening.
I was told these issues were “normal” for my age and that medications and ongoing monitoring would help me maintain a reasonable quality of life. But I couldn't accept that vision of my future—dependent on medications, while my health gradually declined. I had planned on retiring to a Caribbean island, not navigating multiple chronic illnesses. The possibility of living a long, vibrant life felt like it was slipping away.
For several years, my conditions worsened as expected, and the number of prescriptions—and their side effects—only grew. But deep down, I knew there had to be a better way.
That realization led me to take my health into my own hands. I immersed myself in the science of holistic nutrition and integrative wellness. Through consistent, evidence-based changes to my nutrition, gut-brain-hormone balance, activity, and other lifestyle changes, I gradually restored my health. Lab work confirmed what I was feeling: I had reversed all of my chronic conditions. Today, I am medication-free, full of energy, and living a life I had once thought was out of reach.
Motivated by my own transformation, I returned to school and earned a Master of Science in Holistic Nutrition and Health. Over five rigorous years of clinical training, I studied nutritional therapy, stress management, sleep, physical activity, health coaching, and more. I am proud to be board certified in holistic nutrition and a certified personal trainer. I continue to dedicate over 20 hours per week to staying current with the latest health science, all while working closely with clients both online and in person.
My passion is helping people, especially those over 40, prevent and reverse chronic disease so they can live long, vibrant, and independent lives. One of the key areas I focus on is reducing abdominal fat, which significantly raises the risk of conditions like type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, and even dementia. These conditions are often preventable—and sometimes reversible—with the right support.
After working with many clients that had low bone density, muscle weakness, or balance/flexibilty issues, I spent a year studying and practicing to become a Certified Personal Trainer with the American College of Sports Medicine. To stay physically strong and mentally sharp, targeted activity is key for those of us over 40. I increased my bone density by over 10% and my muscle mass by 8% in my late 50s without going to a gym. Let me show you how.
Restoring health is a highly personal process, and one-on-one coaching works best when there’s a strong connection and mutual understanding. If you're curious about working together, I invite you to schedule a no-obligation conversation to answer your questions and decide if we should work together.
